ConfigBox Release Cycles

We take our responsibility for maintaining compatibility with platforms, server software and browsers seriously and maintain a transparent policy for compatibility, updates and breaking changes.

Release lifecycle policy

  • Each major release has a support period of 24 months.
  • Within each support period, we supply updates for bugs and security issues.
  • We ensure avoidance of Breaking Changes within releases on a best-effort basis and maintain a Breaking Changes Info Page for each release.
  • New major releases come out in periods of 12 months or more. We extend support periods at our discretion. In general we aim to make sure you still got 12 months support on your release once we come out with the next.
  • We guarantee compatiblity with PHP versions and CMS versions as stated in the release tables and extend it during the support period on a best-effort basis.

New release numbering since version 3

Before release 3, major releases were numbered 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 2.1 etc. Starting with version 3 going forward, major releases are 3.x, 4.x.
